Role: Senior Estimator

Growthbuilt is a Tier 2 Commercial Contractor based out of the Sydney CBD. Our focus is on Residential High-Rise, Mixed Use, Aged Care, Student Accommodation and Hotel projects up to $200Mil, as well as Commercial Fitout/Refurb up to $40Mil.

YOU:

  • Tertiary-level qualification in Construction Management, Construction Economics  or  Quantity Surveying
  • Over 7 years’ experience working on negotiated, hard dollar and design + construction projects
  • Skilled in building estimation systems
  • Demonstrated capability at estimating from first principles for residential and commercial projects to $30m
  • Proven ability to think outside the square and look for solutions
  • Proven value engineering capabilities
  • Excellent time management skills and proven ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Keen interest in construction and building processes
  • Sound technical knowledge within the building industry
  • Thorough knowledge of Sydney construction market
  • Strong communication skills
  • Marketing and Sales skills
  • Proficiency with MSOffice suite, MSProject, CostExactal, BidContender
  • Green project experience and training

DUTIES:

  • Carry out first principles estimating processes for allocated Tenders
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities for Tenders and Projects
  • Liaise with Subcontractors and Suppliers for costs and quotations
  • Liaise with Authorities, Consultants and Clients to achieve the most effective and compliant designs, and maximise opportunities to develop highly competitive Tenders
  • Manage Trade Tender process
  • Review and analyse Tender submissions
  • Develop Cost Estimates and Cost Plans
  • Prepare project Programs and Preliminaries related to Tender submissions
  • Develop Methodology related to Tender submissions
  • Work within the allocated Tender Team to ensure Tenders are submitted on time, to highest quality, and within Growthbuilt Tender systems and procedures
  • Liaise confidently with clients and stakeholders
  • Negotiate effectively with Consultants, Sub-contractors and Suppliers to maintain positive, long-term relationships
  • Maintain effective communication with all relationships, and through all media
  • Hand over awarded Tenders to Project Teams in accordance with Growthbuilt systems and procedures
  • Maintain all Tender records and IMS records to meet company, client and Authorities’ requirements
