Cadet Success
Jennifer is one of our all star cadets based on site at The Surry. We asked her about her experience and how she feels about being a Growthbuilt Cadet.
Why did you choose a career in construction?
Challenges faced on a construction site are unlike any other profession I have had exposure to. The dynamics experienced on a job site are continuously changing and challenging, yet also rewardingly the same time. We are pushed to find solutions with quick and forward thinking action.
How do you feel about being a woman in construction?
Being a woman in the construction industry has its perks and challenges but being able to look past the larger gender equality discussions and apply learnt skills into real life situations is what really defines working in construction for me. As a woman on site as the minority gender, my goal is to empower more women to start a career in the construction industry and grow and challenge themselves as I am able to do every day working at Growthbuilt.

How has Growthbuilt enhanced your career?
Growthbuilt has given me an amazing opportunity to work and study at the same time. Growthbuilts people and culture mentality enables me to complete my degree whilst relating to works onsite – theory to practical and vice versa. I am involved and part of a cohesive project team who share the same objective in striving to complete the project in a safe and efficient manner on time, to budget and to programme. This camaraderie has definitely given me the ability to learn exponentially from an experienced and empowered team.
